Redesign your home and career with TANZ eCampus

For many of us, the COVID-19 lockdown forced us to reconceptualise the way we use our homes, creating playgrounds out of kitchens and offices out of dining tables.

If you’ve found yourself daydreaming about how to redesign your existing space, you can take the first step towards transforming your home – and your career – with our six-week, online Introduction to Interior Design.

Like any creative profession, interior design requires both imagination and training. This course will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to begin turning your daydreams into reality.

The short course consists of 12 online lessons, including interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials and online discussion areas. As you progress through the course, your expert instructor will take you through interior design fundamentals. Topics include colour theory, spatial arrangement, architectural drawings, lighting design, and both modern and traditional design concepts.

For those of you inspired to use your new knowledge as a career steppingstone, you’ll also learn about professional pathways in the world of interior design.

As you master design skills step-by-step, you’ll complete your first project: a fully developed room design complete with spatial layout and lighting. You can use this as an opportunity to redesign a room in your own house, whether the COVID-19 lockdown has changed the way you use your space, or you simply want to fall back in love with your home.

Because interior design is constantly evolving, the course also covers the latest industry trends.

Many industry experts speculate that this period of self-isolation will usher in a new era of interior design, with increased emphasis on versatility and greater understanding of how our home environment can influence our mood, productivity, and family life.

On an individual level, those of us who continue to work and learn from home have realised the importance of creating a dedicated space for work and study; a space we look forward to entering and are proud to share virtually with colleagues and fellow learners. Many of us have also realised the need for versatile, multi-functional spaces within our homes so that we can switch seamlessly between work, learning and leisure.  For some of us, spending so much time indoors has inspired a desire to change things up and inject some personality into our homes. As interior design guru David Hicks once wrote, “The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them.”

While it’s too early to predict exactly how this period will shape design trends, there is no doubt that this is an exciting time to join the interior design community. Now is a better time than ever to retool, explore new opportunities, and shape your future.

With courses starting monthly, it’s time to step into the world of interior design. Enrol today!
