    Paul Conder is the Chief Financial Officer for TANZ eCampus. Based in Auckland, Paul leads all financial matters for TANZ eCampus and offers support with business and commercial decisions.

    What Paul loves most about TANZ eCampus is being involved in an innovative and growing company early in its development.

    His other business endeavours include being Director of All Green Lights Ltd, Chair of Mainly Music International Trust, Chair of Ako Hiko Education Trust, Independent Member of the Auckland Council Audit and Risk Committee.

    Sales and Business Development Manager

    Jo Miles is an experienced Business Development and Sales Manager who has specialist knowledge of the tertiary education sector. Jo is responsible for facilitating, developing and co-ordinating relationships across the TANZ eCampus member institutions, and with external stakeholder groups including industry associations, industry training organisations, business organisations, and government agencies.

    Jo has had previous roles both here in NZ - with Air New Zealand, CPIT (now Ara), and Core Education - and whilst living in the UK, with England Rugby Travel, and an innovate business management company (Exela UK). 

    Outside of work, Jo enjoys travelling , walking, cycling and enjoying time with family and friends.

    Having held a number of Educational Technology leadership roles in both New Zealand and the UK over the past 20 years, Shane brings a wealth of knowledge to the role of Business Intelligence & Learning Analytics Manager.

    Shane’s role is to deliver data-driven insights and actionable intelligence across the business to help others make informed decisions, understand problems, and identify solutions. In a nutshell, he helps others to be better at what they do, by understanding the story told by the data.

    Shane has a Master of Arts (Distinction) in English Literature from Otago University and has academic interests in Illustrative Criticism, Word & Image Theory, Romanticism, and the works of William Blake and John Milton.

    With a strong passion for making education work for all, Ali is the Learning Delivery and Support Manager for TANZ eCampus. She has extensive experience in the education sector having previously worked as the CEO of a large educational services company providing support to educators from early childhood through the schooling sector.

    Alongside her management role at TANZ eCampus, Ali also owns her own consultancy business, teaches leadership at Ara Institute of Canterbury, and chairs the board for a couple of not for profit organisations that work with young people.

    What Ali loves most about TANZ eCampus is seeing learner successes- especially if they have overcome challenges to succeed.

    With over 25 years in sales and marketing, Lee Retimana is the outsourced Marketing Manager for TANZ eCampus. Through the capability of her marketing agency, Muritai Group, Lee is responsible for TANZ eCampus’ marketing strategy, market research, branding, online marketing, and social media.

    Lee is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. She also sits on the Advisory Boards for both the Massey University College of Business and the Ara Institute of Canterbury School of Business (as the Chairperson).

    Vasi was born in Bulgaria and in her late teens had the opportunity to study and work abroad that lead to a career in training and education.

    Vasi is passionate about finding new ways to use technology to engage and inspire learners and create accessible learning opportunities. This is reflected in her career choices and roles in higher education of Blended Learning Coordinator, Flexible Learning Manager, Director Quality Learning and Director of Strategic Change Initiatives.

    Vasi believes in living life as a learning journey of self discovery. Traveling and living in different countries, is a way of learning more abut herself through experiencing different languages and cultures. She is fluent in Bulgarian, Russian, Greek and English with plans to improve her Spanish and Italian in the near future.

    Throughout her whole working life, Jackie has been connected to educational institutions in some way – including working for 20 years as a research scientist in the field of human reproduction. Her role at TANZ eCampus is Academic and Quality Manager. Jackie ensures that all programmes and courses meet academic and quality requirements. Her number one priority is the continual improvement of learner experiences and outcomes.

    What Jackie loves most about her role is making a difference to people’s lives through study.

    Andrew Barnett is an experienced Change Manager with a history of working in the information technology and services industry. He is currently employed as the Service Delivery Manager for TANZ eCampus. His role is to solve any IT related issues with the TANZ eCampus platform.

    Andrew is highly skilled having acquired a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology and a Masters in Bioinformatics.

    Shirley Wilson returns to the TANZ eCampus team having previously worked as our Academic Manager. She has an extensive background and experience in tertiary education, originating from a career in Nursing, going on to achieve a BSc Hons in Physiology, and a PhD in Neurophysiology, before moving into tertiary teaching, academic quality, and management.

     In her new role at TANZ eCampus, Shirley undertakes projects, currently in data governance and partnership models for delivery.

    Shaw James is an experienced facilitator with a background in management. He currently facilitates courses from the New Zealand Certificate of Business and the New Zealand Diploma of Business. 

    “I enjoy seeing the lights come on when I work with students,” says Shaw. I really like working with motivated students who want to add value to our society.”

    In his spare time, Shaw enjoys family, reading and snow skiing.

    ‘Will is a photographer, filmmaker and digital creative, he facilitates many TANZ eCampus courses directly related to the Creative Industry.’

    “I see so many learners begin their study with some ability, but little confidence in what they’re capable of. These online courses confirm to learners that they have a good base level of skill. This then lifts them up and helps them see that they can achieve great things. I can think of many times where learners have advanced their careers because of what they have discovered about themselves during their study,” says Will.

    John is one of TANZ eCampus’ IT course facilitators. He is also a lecturer for the Level 4 and Level 5 technical IT programs at Ara Institute of Canterbury’s Timaru Campus. Fun fact: He has been using and promoting the Linux operating system since 1998.

    What John loves about IT is that using the tools of IT is fun and saves time. It is challenging since there is never an end of what you can do with a tool like a spreadsheet. He enjoys helping people to take advantage of what is available.

    Outside of work, John can be found renovating a school into a home (a 10 year project so far!), as well as serving for the past 20 years on the Proprietor Board and the Board of Trustees for Timaru Christian School.

    To see people grow in their abilities, confidence, and self-esteem is what drives, Rob Meadows to teach. 

    “It’s great to see students achieve because of completing study. Knowing my students have made amazing life changing decisions and carved new paths for themselves and their families is a real highlight,” says Rob.

    Rob facilitates TANZ eCampus online project management courses including the New Zealand Certificate in Project Management.

    As a lecturer/associate professor, Michael has been involved in facilitating Information Technology courses in the tertiary sector for over 30 years.  Highlights for Michael during that time include students developing web sites that are used by real businesses and facilitating classes using modern technologies.

    “Online learning enables students to continue with their professional and personal lives and organise their learning around this”.

    Michael facilitates courses in the Computing Programmes including NZ Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User - Level 3) and New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology Essentials (Level 4).

    As Janet manages a not-for-profit adult community education organisation, and works as a National Trainer/Facilitator for two educational organisations, she is the perfect person to facilitate part of TANZ eCampus’ adult teaching qualifications.

    Janet loved learning how to be an online facilitator and enjoys being able to provide learners with an accessible way to learn new skills and obtain new knowledge to use in their careers.

    Outside of work, Janet enjoys dancing, music, reading and yoga (if she gets the time).

    Kiriwai Te Whero is a tutor at NorthTec with over nine years’ experience in the tertiary education sector. During that time Kiriwai has worked alongside, and provided support to, adult learners across all levels of the learning spectrum.

    “I’m able to communicate with learners in a way where they feel a sense of belonging, in a way where they feel they can reach out for help and be guided in a way they understand. Being able to communicate through technology is very new to some learners so, what drives my interest is allowing learners to reach their online learning goals, knowing that I’ve made an impact on their lives and opened their eyes to many possibilities”.

    Kiriwai is a facilitator for the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3).

    Marie facilitates a range of our business administration courses. What she loves about TANZ eCampus is seeing the students complete and being able to interact with them even though not in a face-to-face situation.

    Outside of TANZ eCampus, Marie works for NorthTec facilitating a Small Business blended learning programme. She also belongs to an organisation called Business and Professional Women (BPW) which is a national and international organisation that advocates for the rights of women.

     In her limited spare time she enjoys reading, movies, craft work and spending time with family.

    Ingrid Wahrlich has spent 25 years working in the adult education sector, teaching adults and school leavers in personal and business development programmes. Ingrid is currently a Senior Academic Tutor at North Tec and holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Management.

    “I love seeing people growing and learning and how education provides the key to this. It is absolutely life changing”.

    Ingrid is a facilitator for the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology).

    Melanie is passionate about continual learning and development in all areas of life, and is always looking for opportunities for challenge and growth. Learning is a life long journey and she enjoys assisting learners through this part of their travels with TANZ eCampus so that they can achieve further work and life goals.

    As well as being a facilitator, Melanie is also a member of the TANZ eCampus Product Development Team where she develops and maintains engaging courses to ensure your needs as a learner are met

    Outside of work Melanie is passionate about the environment.  She regularly researches how she can improve the sustainability of her lifestyle. She also loves travelling. "I think I will always be in awe of all the stunning and diverse landscapes New Zealand has to offer".

    Nathan facilitates Project Management, Leadership, Business and Management courses. He is also a lecturer at IPU (PTE), UCOL (Polytechnic) and as an associate lecturer with University of Liverpool, UK (online facilitator).

    “Students needs to take responsibility for their studies in order maximise their experience with TANZ eCampus. Time management is essential. I enjoy witnessing student’s success. I feel my role is to assist students to achieve their goals in a timely and well supported way”.

    A chartered accountant and teacher, Steve Hobson facilitates the New Zealand Diploma in Business - Introduction to Accounting and Taxation course.

    As a facilitator, he says watching students succeed, no matter what age, no matter what level is very satisfying.

    “It’s a real highlight when you see something ‘click’ with a student. Small successes are just as satisfying as the large,” says Steve.

    Facilitator Phil Greenlees has some words of wisdom for learners - plan well during the week and reward yourself with a relaxing weekend!

    “One of the highlights for me as a facilitator is seeing people achieve their chosen qualification path and assisting them in making the right decisions to improve their career opportunities”.

    Phil is a facilitator in Small Business Planning and when he’s not facilitating at TANZ eCampus he is an associate of a start up business that delivers training and development to people in the workplace.

    Klaasz Breukel is senior graphic designer, visual artist and lecturer with more than 20 years’ industry experience. Originally from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, he currently resides in sunny Nelson with his family.

    Klaasz facilitates the graphic design courses at TANZ eCampus. “I love sharing my passion for design and get immense joy when things just fall into place for students and they start having fun with their newly learnt skills.” Klaasz seeks out the best resources available for his students and strives to inspire them with examples of spectacular art, designs and clever thinking.

    Pauline is driven by assisting learners to make progress, learn new skills and achieve their goals.

    “A highlight for me of online learning is working with learners at both ends of the spectrum. I enjoy helping those who are, or have been, in the workforce to gain qualifications and to reflect their experience and I enjoy working with those learners who are starting on their learning journey and to see their progress and confidence gained”.

    A Specialist Fisheries Maritime Lawyer, Kim works part time as a facilitator for TANZ eCampus offering her expertise to students completing courses from the New Zealand Diploma in Business.

    “Teaching is in my DNA, my parents are both educators, my siblings are educators and my grandmother too! I can’t help myself,” says Kim. “I love to share knowledge and guide people to apply that knowledge. Recently one of my students came to me with a contract she had drafted, I couldn’t offer her much by the way of comments and improvements as she had done such a good job! And I empowered her to do that!”

    Donna Petry is a senior facilitator with more than 26 years’ experience lecturing in the tertiary sector.

    “Helping people to grow, develop and achieve their goals is what drives me to work with students,” says Donna. “The TANZ eCampus online learning platform really helps students to move through the courses with relative ease. It’s great.”

    Giving her students confidence in their own abilities, Bryony Tesar sees her role as a facilitator guiding and empowering her students.

    “I always encourage my students to read my postings online and then follow their own learning path. They should also take advantage of our online forums by sharing their knowledge and learning from others,” says Bryony.

    Bryony facilitates courses from the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) and The New Zealand Diploma in Business (Accounting).

    “I greatly enjoy seeing students succeed with my help and support. It is an incredibly satisfying feeling when they “get it”, says Rhonda.

    In her spare time, Rhonda enjoys sewing, reading, walking and travel.

    After 25 years in tertiary education and 20 years in the IT industry, Roanne has a passion for helping people of all ages, and all cultures, to learn new skills. She thinks it is amazing to communicate with learners all over NZ, or all over the world, in an online environment, and to see the progress made.

    For a number of years now Roanne has worked largely online from her home base, and has worked with many tertiary institutes, so being a facilitator with TANZ eCampus is an ideal role for her.

    Roanne lives in Thames, on the Coromandel peninsula. She considers this one of the most beautiful natural environments in New Zealand.

    In her spare time, Roanne likes to garden and grow edibles such as vegetables and herbs as well as enjoy the company of friends and family, especially over lunch on a sunny Sunday.

    Eileen Roddy facilitates TANZ eCampus Business (Administration & Technology) courses. She is a highly experienced educator with a keen interest in flexible learning opportunities, enabling learners to fit their study around existing work and family commitments. Eileen enjoys working with students on their journey towards achieving their career goals. Her interests include family, travel, reading and gardening.
